Although the damage is very common for young children because they are so cute, some studies have shown that too much pampering makes certain characteristics negative children. The problems become more evident as they grow. They tend to be overly dependent and have low self-esteem self.

When children grow up in an environment where people are always at your disposal, would not be able to learn how to take care of themselves and become too dependent on their parents or guardians. This attitude is not acceptable because, even if they are old, which would others to do things for them and end up not knowing what to do when they are alone.

For example, there is a second grade boy who refuses to eat lunch without the assistance of the elderly. It has been too pampered at home because he was a baby. Children who have been accustomed to much pampering can be identified by their childish attitude, even when they get older.

When children are spoiled too become too dependent on their surroundings and tend to have low self-esteem. This is actually the result of the unit. They do not believe in their own Yeah capacity, but a lot of his ability to decide on things. If you look at the cause, you would see that this is the result of having someone do everything for them. Children low self-esteem can not make a decisive response, especially in response to their functions.

You can clearly see that many body care can affect children's characters and behavior not only for the short term but also over time as they grow. It means that even if they reach adulthood, they are still children used to be indecisive. So as not to spoil their children too.

Murano Glass inherits its name from master craftsmen in Murano glass Back in the 13th century. At that time, glass manufacturers have been considered very high, and people were most prominent in society because of the monopoly on the art of quality glass, jewelry and other accessories. This trend has continued for centuries, but despite efforts to contain Venice Art Glass Murano Technology glass manufacturers have begun to emerge in other parts of Italy.

The technology of today's work glass are already widespread, but the best always works from Murano glass. Throughout the centuries, Murano glass-masters have perfected techniques and have developed crystalline glass, enameled glass (Smalto), glass with the son of gold (aventurine), multicolored glass (millefiori) milk glass (lattimo) and imitation gemstones made of glass. Make no mistake, the complex design pendants, necklaces, jewels, which are very common today require a lot of work to do.

As with other types of glass, Murano glass is made of fine silica. Silicate melts when exposed at high temperatures and turns into molten glass. After it hardens, it becomes solid glass. When the glass is a semi-liquid form can be bent or stretched or packaged, or hot worked in other media. By the time the glass remains in its semi-molten before hardening depends on the amount of sodium oxide mixed with silica. Agents flow, or melt can also be added to the mixture before heating for fusion is possible at temperatures below the normal melting point of silica. Nitrates and arsenic are also added to avoid bubbles during melting so that the glass retains its surface texture. To add color to the glass, additional reagents include, as a solution gold to produce a ruby red or cobalt and copper to produce a solution aquamarine. The glass is usually clear after the merger, but additional reagents May be added to the result of opaque glass.

The traditions of the manufacturers of Murano glass and continues to this day and fine jewelry that is its outcome is sought worldwide.

If this car?

We really need a car. We have our heart set on a Nissan Murano 2004. Its beautiful. Its gilded leather interior at full load and a roof moom. For years and miles the car is $ 21000 on KBB. The only thing is that he was involved in an accident where the passenger door had to be replaced. This depreciates the value but you do not know what. The guy is asking $ 18,995. We offer him $ 15,995 due to the accident. He said he couldnt have less than $ 18,000. It was a week ago. Should we give $ 17,000 or simply forget. I do not want to pay more. I havnt done this before. What must be done. He's a private seller, here is the car - http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/car/584806564.html

A vehicle that was involved in an accident never the same. I would never buy a vehicle who knowingly has been in an accident, especially nobody knows the extent of damage and what type of work that the repair was done. You can open the door a year and find a good body molds and then you'll really be unhappy. I can say that the passenger side door had to be replaced, which probably means that the car was t-bone, I'd be concerned about the damage part. EDIT: JeffyB response below is inaccurate. If a vehicle is directly means only that is correctly aligned. Not by any means indicate that the vehicle has a greater harm.

Venini Murano

The glass is around us and has been for centuries. It is so widespread that literally see through it … Why pay so much for a piece of jewelry glass? Just because it is Made in Murano?

Because it's online store "> Made in Murano!

Heat a bubble of molten glass up, hold with tongs or pliers ( "BORSELLO") and attach a lamp to iron it. But the ball rolling hot glass while at the same time breathing through a tube blow (canna da soffio "). Then to heat the glass again and repeat the previous steps for a small wonder. This is exactly how the magic of Murano glass begins.

Like magic crystal, and yet so extraordinary, is all around us. Found in many colors and shapes, or a glass container, the windows of a church (of medieval glass) or a necklace of gold or silver embedded in it or in vibrant colors … each and all glassware is absolutely unique.
Exclusively handmade by artist glass, a master craftsman or artisan, glass in hand and in particular products from Murano glass is unique.
Why?
Because at the other tip of the gun is a human being who breathes life into the glass. And also for the simple reason that humans can not make two identical objects, only the character similar.

This is the true appeal and magic of a blown glass item: you can have as many as you can afford and may be more or less beautiful, but not two of them will never be the same if they are blown by mouth. And the glass has been manufactured since 3rd millennium BC in Egypt, 1st century BC has blown glass tests, the first truth in Syria.

Throughout the centuries blown glass has remained a matter of luxury and art flourished in the Roman world. The white silica sand in this area has been the raw material ideal for use in the Roman glass production because of low levels of impurities. Beginning with the 14th century, the island of Murano, on the coast of Venice, Italy, began to hold a monopoly in the glass creations of luxury tableware, mirrors, jewelry, products lighting. Here, through hard work and require skilled craftsmen have been producing art for centuries objects in glass of rare beauty, so finely worked like lace, so light as feather but full of glorious colors. It is where the Murano glass tradition as we know it today began: paperweights, vases, candlesticks, mirrors, glass candy ornaments, plates of different sizes and shapes, all sizes of bottles, dishes, small animals, colors, shapes, calligraphy pens and jewelry of course! In Regarding jewelry, one popular souvenir is the Murrina, a pendant spiral around Slim colored glass or flower patterns that is hung on gold silver or just a simple cotton necklace around his neck.

The art of blowing glass is primarily a family tradition in Italy, as a basic understanding the excellent equipment and techniques of glass blowing was necessary to exploit fully the qualities of glass. Technical knowledge and skills combined with passion and pride taken in a job well done is passed on by generations of glassblowers and developed jointly with a sense of elegance and style, perfectly suited to the material.

Some manufacturers of Murano is world renowned for the beauty of forms, the difficulty their profession, and the consistent quality of its products, which harvest or Seguso Venini. But even smaller manufacturers today create excellent products, and in fact sometimes you can pay more freedom to experiment and try new combinations, in terms of design and color balance, being always in the traditional manufacturing techniques.

Often, Murano glass - especially the largest, the most valuable pieces - comes with a guarantee, if the artist's signature or mark of the workshop, or a payroll containing a certificate of authenticity. Murano is an element heavy, their bright colors and the perfect crystal. The absence of this guarantee does not necessarily mean that one is a fake or a copy. But then, how can I find the real thing, how can I be sure I'm not sold "fake" Murano glass? Our advice is to buy a specialty shop respectable. As www.alluringcreations.co.za/Patr172LyS5/www.alluringcreations.co.za "Title = "Seductive creations of jewels in Murano glass safe to buy online"> Creations attractive.

And most importantly, not afraid to pose questions to the owner of the shop: the best distributors Glass Murano has a thorough knowledge of their property and will be happy to answer your questions and help you make the best decision possible.

Last but not least, remember that the Murano is an investment, both culturally and economically!

Should you keep the original stickers on a Murano vase?

I’m not sure if this is more a decor or an art question, but I thought I’d ask here first. I have recently purchased some Murano glass art vases. Some have original stickers indicating they were made in Murano or Italy, or giving the maker’s name. Do I take these off or keep them on? For resale I know it’s better to have these on to prove that they are actually Murano glass and made in Italy. But for display purposes, wouldn’t it be odd to keep them on? Does removing the stickers detract from the value of the pieces significantly? These are vintage or used pieces already, all of which are in good condition and considered collectible. Any thoughts would be helpful. Also, any suggestions on how to display them or what textures and other decor complement art glass? Thanks!

Murano is not a collectible in the sense that you need to have a sticker state that it is Murano or even the factory name. Anyone who knows and values glass will know a Murano piece. The glass is only made in Murano and there are only a few places that make it. It is a more costly glass to buy but so is Waterford and many Scandinavian glass makers. But you wouldn’t keep their tags on them. None of the pieces are numbered or dated. They are merely more expensive pieces to buy and I certainly wouldn’t want to give them to Goodwill if I didn’t care for them any longer. If you were to sell them you could only sell to someone who appreciates quality glass or appreciates the look. I use all my glass as opposed to just decorate with it as I don’t like the museum look in my home. But if you wish to do so, put them in a lighted glass cabinet. Glass only looks exceptional when it is on glass and lit up.

Perfume bottles are one of the important aspects that people get attracted. The outward appearance plays a vital role in gaining attention and it is common to see people getting carried away with the artistic beauty of perfume bottles.

Conventional perfume bottles are found in abundance as the application of perfumes instigated since ancient times. Perfumes were used during various occasions, and storing it was essential to keep the perfumes fragrance in tact. So collections of perfume bottles were available in various shapes and colors from olden days. Romans and Greeks manufactured perfumes and stored them in geometric shaped bottles. These perfume bottles were recognized as a sign of high class people. Slowly these geometric designed bottles were transformed to mimic nature bottles. This change initiated taking into consideration the progress of the society and rank.

Traditional perfume bottles carries its significance even today and there are many people who just identify their choice of perfumes by merely looking at the shape of the perfume bottle. Perfume bottles are generally refilled as people dislike throwing such traditional pieces since they consider it very valuable. Throwing it is losing the aesthetic value of an antique piece. Gradually, perfume bottles began coming in colored glasses and it was distinguished as classy perfume if the colors were rich.

China came into the perfume market with another assortment of perfume bottles made of porcelain. People did not pause while purchasing perfume from local stores or simple brand perfume stores, but storing it in appropriate and valuable containers was mandatory. Hence, the craftsmanship and the developed interest in artistic talents increased giving rise to manufacture of decorative perfume bottles. This way traditional and conventional perfume bottles began to gain additional importance as these perfume bottles were really appealing. Even in recent times it is noted that perfume bottles especially antique pieces make a great collection.

Perfume bottles are manufactured by using numerous materials like Murano produced colored glass perfume bottles with millefiori or latticinio decoration. The Germans used milchglass, a thick white glass ornamented with flowers or figures in enamels and gilding giving it a striking appearance. Getting lured to such traditional or antique perfume bottles is not astonishing. Similarly, collectible perfume bottles make a great gift during any occasion. These collectibles also hold a memory and sentimental feeling.

Cleaning a perfume bottle is easily done by dropping a denture cleaning tablet and water. The fizz helps in cleaning the interior of the bottle. Innumerable museums and stores providing vintage and Victorian perfume bottles are available at affordable prices.

That's what I did, in order: to join the board. Have you a drink. Cleaned. You have a white candle. Enlightened and said: "Leave - As the Lord surround me," said the Lords Prayer. I asked if anyone in his new, and the same thing happened. He told me your "name, and went to B, then u, k, then u 3 times. Then he stopped. So I asked a question. Then, nothing happened. I sat about 5 min. Nothing has product yet. So I said goodbye and tore the paper into 7 pieces. I blew out the candle. threw the paper. Then place the small glass. Am I doing something wrong? or if you need more people and a real ouija board?

Let’s face the facts; if you’re looking for something different in men’s fashion accessories, you have to look long and hard. Even the retailers are commenting on the generic nature of many brands. And the press are having a field day, there’s a lot to write about, but it doesn’t make it any easier for the customer.

Well they’re a few well know brands and lesser known to, that are producing collections that defy common trends and you won’t necessarily find them hanging sadly with all the other dots and stripes that just rolled off the conveyer belt.

As brands are bought, sold and corporatized, the essence that sparked their beginning is lost, naturally. But there are always budding designers to step up to the blocks and start a new cycle. They’re not necessarily young, some designers bud later in life. Vivienne Westwood is at the peak of her creativity at 65.

Quietly, Quietly

Ian Flaherty quietly arrived on the market and produced some beautifully formed English Pewter cufflinks, giving life to lifeless forms. There is a horse and rider in breathless pursuit of the unfortunate Fox, the Mallard and Partridge, Pheasant, and Trout, all brought to still life by the artistic prowess of Ian Flaherty. You can surf the net and trod the high streets, but you’ll be hard pressed to find anything that compares with Ian’s latest work.

The Truth

Veritas is a Latin word meaning “truth” and the truth is Veritas Gifts manufacture a range of elegant men’s fashion accessories, from cufflinks to collar stiffeners. And they’re engineered to take the load; just a brief handle will satisfy your senses and make you feel immediately you’re in touch with stylish quality.

The Name
Vivienne Westwood, driven by an endless creative imagination, has been applying key design principles proportionately to all her collections. Combining colour, pattern, texture, proportionately, has become the trademark of all her design work, from crockery to clothing, from silk tiesto evening gowns for Royals. The Orb is now an internationally recognised brand symbol, with a difference.

A Swank History

Swank Inc a popular designer and manufacturer of men’s cufflinks were incorporated on April 17, 1936. When cufflinkspeaked in the 1960’s they were making 12 million a year.

Even though these were aimed at the lowest end of the market, retailing for an average of $2.50 a pair, that still adds up to a lot of men wearing cufflinks. These days the figure is closer to 200,000, but cufflinks are making a strong comeback with gross sales having increased consistently over the last ten years, while the French cuff continues to be the most prestigious type of shirt. The most expensive cufflinks ever sold were a pair given to the soon-to-be King Edward VIII by his later wife Wallis Simpson. These featured diamonds set in platinum and sold at auction for $440,000.

Who’s Nathan?

Nathan Tim is a new name to the fashion industry, armed with a mission and a collection of floral Cufflinks that reflect the brilliant hues of nature, showcased in rigid Murano Glass. The flowers captured within, reflect not just the timeless beauty of its petals, but also a richly textured history of fine glass making, stemming back many hundreds of years. And Nathan Tim has unearthed the best of the best.

Simplicity: The Simon Carter philosophy

Simon Carter’s reputation stems from his revolutionary approach to men’s fashion accessories design following his introductory men’s brooches, in the mid to late 80’s. Some of his original designs are classified vintage. Simon Carter’s cufflinks maintain a philosophy of simplicity in his designs; simple, functional, without loosing their stylish edge. His cufflinks not only firm to cuff, they glean a touch of elegance and frame perfectly an object of expression. This lovely display of style and engineering will harmonise with any outfit, formal or casual, here an important function inherent in Simon’s philosophy of simplicity, a cufflink for all occasions.

And Fred Bennett

A name familiar in fashion accessory circles, he’s been around a while and so have his cufflinks. They don’t resemble originality and perhaps the essence once prevalent has been lost as the business becomes more business like. Never the less the new range is compelling enough.

And Now Timothy Everest

A Savile Row Tailor in Spitalfields and creator of the modern Spitalfields flower pattern. His underground approach takes him down an infrequent road travelled — many follow. In a career spanning the rise and fall of countless fashion cycles, from the hazy days of Tommy Nutter to the Creative force behind the rebirth of British fashion icon Daks. Miniscule perhaps, but, Introducing a range of cufflinks would conclude nicely a growing range of signature accessories. And it’s on the cards.

someone who knows about Murano blown glass. Have an old duck that I think is a decanter?

Duck is a deep reddish brown with golden highlights. He is in a horizontal position about 20″ long. Upon further inspection I don’t believe the head comes off–although it does let water in somewhere around the neck where it seems to be attached to the body. Bottom has unidentifiable “marking”, then “murano”, then “italia”. It’s been in the family at least 60 years.

I suggest that you check out sites displaying Murano articles…as they certainly will give you an ideao if your decanter is genuine Murano.

History of Murano Glass
by
Michele Zampedri

Glass: between art and mystery
Since ancient times man has paid an almost mystic- attention to glass, attributing something magical and supernatural to this transparent material. Magicians of legend could predict the future by gazing into a crystal sphere, chemists and alchemists studied prisms in search of a stone which would turn metal into gold, magic that was born in flames and like that fire that gave life to the popular belief of the Phoenix, the mythological bird with the golden plumes, glass is synonymous with beauty. Still today, for the visitors who come to Murano, the same scenes which inspired writers and legend are represented. In fact the furnace structures have remained unaltered over time and new technology is seen only in small details. All this is because of the attachment the master glass-blowers have towards tradition. Like a clock, they seem to have stopped time in the more than one thousand years of history of glass-blowing in Venice. The glass masters “battono” (beat, i.e. use) the same glass-blowers pipes and the same instruments which were knowingly forged in the machine shops which were built up over the island which, together with other small activities, has made Murano one of the centers of Venetian commerce. The origins of the art of glass blowing in Venice go back to before the first millennium. This is confirmed by a document written by a Benedict monk, Domenico called “Fiolario”, who manufactured phials for use in the home. There is no certainty as to the shape of this phial since not one, neither whole nor in pieces, survived to the present day. We can only hypothesize as to the aspect of the phial from some iconographic documents. The technique used to make the phial was that of blowing into glass using those instruments that the late Roman glass blowing activities had passed down through the ages. It is presumed that later the technique was refined in Venice more than any where else in Europe because of the trading contacts that the Venetians had with the Orient and above all with countries that already had an ancient tradition in glass blowing such as the Fenici, the Syrians and the Egyptians. Such traditions, renewed in the celebrated furnaces of Islam, were an occasion to reconstruct both Western and Oriental knowledge and techniques there by giving the Venetian production a particularness that made their glass so important throughout the world over the course of centuries. Today Venetian glass production is at it’s pinnacle, and is world renowned for it’s quality and form.

Glass: between art and mystery
In the mean time, the old Amurianum, as the island of Murano has been called in honour of one of the ports of Altino, grew in prestige. So much so as to be considered separate from the other Venetian islands, enjoying a certain liberty afforded by the “Signoria” (ruling class). Such privilege was assigned in virtue of the furnaces that were installed there and consequently the economic importance that Murano began to have in the social fabric of the Serenissima. By verdict of the Doge and carried over by Doge Tiepolo in 1291, the island of Murano was declared a true and proper industrial area and soon became the capital of glass production in the world. The Doge was represented by a head of state and flanked by a popular council called Arengo, among the various privileges they were afforded was the so called “Libro d’Oro” or golden book where the names of the most important families were recorded. The icon of the “oselle” or the conservation of the symbol (the rooster carrying a fox on it’s back and a serpent in it’s beak) is the extraordinary concession that the families of Murano shared with the nobility of Venice. The affinity between Venice and Murano is curiously seen in the morphology of the two cities which presents the same public squares, streets, internal canals and even the same “Grand Canal” which runs through it. It was deemed necessary to construct an order in the productive cycle from the buying of raw materials to the formation of Glass Masters and the preservation of the product. These rules were transcribed from classic latin into a more known language. This transcription took place in the first half of the 1400’s with the writing and approval of “Mariegole della arte dei verieri de Muran” (rules of the art of glass_blowing of Murano) and is preserved at the Correr Museum in Venice. The manuscript with a frontispiece illustrating Saint Anthony Abate , patron saint of glassblowers, is bound in a velvet and gold cover (17th Century). Along with the category of glass-blower who was dedicated to the production of blown or hollowed out glass other catagories were added such as; mirror-maker and window-pane maker and in particular rolled glass bound in strips of lead (leaded glass maker). There was also the category of glass flower-maker, bead and “conterie” maker. The name “conterie” or counter is thought to have come from the habit of using beads almost like currency considering the quantity and diffusion throughout the countries with which the Venetian Republic traded. All of the glass-making specialties were represented in the internal council which were elected each year and were composed of furnace owners and the “Stazionieri”, that is to say the sellers who were intrusted with the job of selling the final products. Hierarchies grew up around the furnaces that governed the production activities in the “Piazza” (local square) with the “maestri” (glass masters), “garzoni” and “garzonetti” (lackies), “serventi” and “serventini” (trainees) and not least of all the “forcelanti” (glass-cutters) who were at the direct dependence of the Glass Master to whom which he paid solicitous respect seeing in him not only a teacher but above all as mentor. Murano glass has know moments of glory over the centuries as well as moments of decline. However it has always been characterized by an obsessive search for quality. In fact Murano’s motives in its pride has always been its aesthetic quality which has often contrasted with its competition and has frustrated attempts at imitation. Through out the history of art, the hollow blown glass of Murano has forged it’s own path, it’s strength being in its variation of type and class. From its poly-chromatic glazes and the gold in the cobalt blue of the Barovier cup to the lightness and transparency of its glasses; from the delicateness of the lattice-work to the originality of Murano glass; from the mosaics to the counting beads; from the panes of glass to the mirrors, it all represents the original history of glass. Just as painting and sculpture, interior design, mode and jewelry have become entwined in the history of Murano, considering the versatility of the material to adapt to other forms of artistic expression. Especially today, in fact many artist have felt the need to shape, through the knowledgeable hands of the master glass-blowers of Murano, their ideas through the magic of glass, in search of significance in their works of art in the very profoundness of the material’s transparency.

Art Glass
The process of making Murano glass is rather complex. Most arts Murano glass is made by Lampworking technique. Glass is made from silica which becomes liquid at high temperatures. Because changes from liquid to glass solid state, there is an interval in which the glass is soft before it hardens completely. This is when the glass master can shape material.

Some of the glass factories of Murano historic landmarks remain today as we know, including Venini, Barovier & Toso, Seguso and Pauly. The oldest glass factory is Pauly & C. - Compagnia Venezia Murano, founded in 1866.

Materials
Other materials, called agents flow or melting, soften at low temperature. More sodium oxide present in glass, the slower it solidifies. It is important to work hand because it allows the glass maker more time to shape the material. The different raw materials that an artisan might add to a glass mixture are sodium (to make glass opaque surface), nitrate and arsenic (to remove air bubbles) and coloring or opacifying substances.
The colors, materials and techniques
The colors, techniques and Materials vary the look a glassmaker seeks to achieve. I have some pink glass dinnerware as well as some yellow glass dinnerware…anyone know the value of each?

Both the Pink Glassware and the Yellow Glassware are embossed with a filigree design. Not sure how old they are, but it is definitely older than 50 years. Can you help me put a value on these?

I agree with Butterfly - it is probably depression glass. My mother collects pieces.

“Depression Glass is colorful or clear, machine-pressed glass made during the 30’s and used as premiums in dime stores (chain emporiums where most things cost originally 5 or 10 cents). On slow nights, movie theaters also offered it to entice audiences through their doors.”
http://www.biddingtons.com/content/pedigreedglass.html

You can purchase books and look on the net to identify the patterns you have. Different patterns and different colors vary in worth.

The following books are just some that are available from Amazon:
Warman’s Depression Glass Field Guide: Values and Identification (Warmans Field Guide) by Ellen T Schroy (Paperback - April 30, 2008)

Mauzy’s Depression Glass: A Photographic Reference with Prices by Barbara E. Mauzy and Jim Mauzy (Hardcover - Aug 15, 2007)

This website has pictures of the different patterns which might help you determine if you do have depression glass. I have not seen a great deal of yellow depression glass - so if it is depression glass, it might be more valuable.

Archimede Seguso

Pandora Jewelry recently added 12 new models to its collection of Murano glass. These new designs will add style, color and style your wrist or Pandora necklace. Dress up this fall in swirling colors, peas, zigzags, and floral designs. Each piece is designed and is a piece of art unique.
Murano Glass is the oldest center for glass making in history, from the 9th century today. He is known for his fine work Art and Innovation and glassware. Because Murano has a history as long, one can see the reflection of important events, including the Renaissance and the Napoleon's conquest in Europe, and how that affected a small island of glassmakers in the Adriatic Sea.
Murano is located on a small island northwest of the city of Venice, Italy - no bigger than a few square kilometers.
It is believed that the origins of Murano goes back to the 9th century Rome, with influences significant Asian and Muslim, as Venice was the major trading port. Multicolored pearl (beads) were used in trade with Asia, African and Muslim neighbors. The first known historical document describes Domenico, a masterpiece of glass, which has created bottles. Other equally rare documents describe Pietro Fiolario working glass in 1083 and Giovanni Fiolario as glassblower teacher for making bottles in 1158.

Since the 1950s, teachers Venice have collaborated with artists from around the world, including Pablo Picasso, Henry Moore and Jean Cocteau, and serve as mentors to artists who started the movement of American Glass Studio.

History of Murano glass
The reputation of Murano, a center of glass production after the birth of the Republic Venice, fearing fire and destruction City mostly wood buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291. Murano Glass is still interwoven with Venetian glass.

Art Glass Chandeliers: Something Unique

If you’re looking for interesting lighting fixtures here’s a museum in Japan full of them guaranteed to inspire you.

antique art glassA museum in the Hakone region of Japan, (a few hours from Tokyo) houses some of the most interesting Venetian crystal ornamentation and lighting. The Venetian Glass Museum or the Hakone Glass Forest, as it’s called, is a great way to see crystal and Murano glass in all its splendor, because, unlike a typical museum, a portion of the displays begin outside where entryway trees are festooned in Murano crystal; some clear, others in beautiful rich colors. These crystal filled trees line the museum’s courtyard.

The museum itself contains some very exquisite Murano glass chandeliers dating back to the 18th century. Period piece rooms are filled with ornate crystal chandeliers - a different kind of visual experience for the Murano glass lover, a Venetian style of production that dates back hundreds of years.

Murano glassmaking began in the 13th century when glassmakers in Venice were banned to the island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon. Some of this was based on safety to ensure the hot fires needed to make glass would not burn down Venice but another reason was to keep the knowledge of the craft secret and specific to the area. Glassmakers of Murano (at the time) were actually forbidden to share their trade secrets with foreigners nor were they allowed to leave the island, an offense punishable by death. Venetian glassmakers were the leaders in glassmaking throughout the middle ages, right up until the 19th and 20th century when they were finally upstaged by the Bohemian and English glassmakers.

Murano glass is still renowned throughout the world. Glassmakers on Murano work much the same way they did hundreds of years ago but now it’s possible to find much more affordable Murano reproductions.

Help me! i need advice on getting out from this upside down auto loan!!?

I bought an 06 nissan murano the summer of 2007. Being a first time car buyer i kinda got screwed in the deal. Currently i owe $20,787.72 and my monthly payments are $676 and some change a month. I love this car and i can make the monthly payments but im tired of living paycheck to paycheck because of it. The kelly blue book trade in value is $13,500. Thus making me upside down on the loan and i cant find anyone to refinance me. Not even the credit unions! .. Ive been thinking about trading it in for a smaller honda accord or somthing but ive been told that trading it in wont help lower my payments, if anything it will dig my hole even deeper. Advice anyone??? what would you do? and what should i do?? I just want lower monthly payments. HELP

please & thank you =)
first time car buyer with little to no credit — they tried to get me to accept 17.2% but i knew that was ridiculous lol so i settled at 10.6%

There is really not too much you can do. If you want to get out from under those payments, then sell the car as an individual, you will get more money than trading it in, then try to take out a personal loan with a credit union, etc for the balance to pay the car off. This would leave you with whatever the payment was on the personal loan.

Then you would need a car, you can buy one several years old, and save a ton of money, and get a small payment on it, both those payments combined will probably be less than 676.00.

Or just get a old junker for now and pay cash until the personal loan is paid off, then get you a better car.
